IMPORTANT
Please check your bath leg fixings before framework installation
TubFix™ Bath frames fit 90% of standard rectangular baths on the market, however certain types of bath legs may interfere with the framework depending on the lip size of your bath.
The most ideal leg fixings for the framework are those under the bath as shown in Fig 1. and Fig.2.
Fig 3 shows legs from Ideal Standard, they have removable side fixings that are not necessary if using our TubFix™ frame.
Fig 4 shows the all in one leg form which depending on the size of the bath lip could possibly get in the way of the framework installation. The bath lip needs to be a minimum 50mm in front of the side leg fixing in order for the frame to fit and to allow a maximum 20mm for the bath panel/tile finish.
Front & End Frame Configuration
Front Frame Only Configuration
The front and end frame fixing kits are sold separately.
The front frame configuration allows fixing between two walls.
The front and end fixing kits lock securely together for a traditional ‘L’ shaped bath layout.
The frame is ideal for tiled finishes or a traditional bath panel.
For a tiled finish we recommend fixing a 6mm thick tile backer/waterproof cement board by either drilling a pilot hole into the upright supports and then fixing using a coated self-tapping screw or simply applying silicone to the full length of the support members; place the board and allow to dry. (An access panel can easily be worked into the frame)
For a traditional bath panel we recommend using a single one piece panel (10mm-15mm thick) which can be secured onto the uprights simply by using a small ‘blob’ of silicone. (We would recommend a small amount only should future access to the services under the bath be required).
The frame itself is not ideal for panels with plinths, however if your bath lip/edge is wide enough, the frame itself can be set back an additional 15mm and packing pieces can be fixed to the top of the upright supports for the plinth to fit underneath.
